I went through RAAF pilot selection myself. Finding everything I needed to practise meant hunting across a dozen sites, and the material that was any good was expensive. This is the thing I wanted at the time, built properly.

Almost everything sold to aircrew candidates is a PDF question bank. That is fine for arithmetic, and useless for the half of the battery that is not a question at all: the tracking tests, the instrument reads, the multitask simulations where four things demand you at once. Those are the ones people report struggling with, and until now there was nowhere to practise them.

So this is a browser version of the whole battery: 27 tests across numerical, spatial, perceptual, working memory, psychomotor and multitasking. Every one of them runs live and scores you against a benchmark, and on Premium walks you back through what you got wrong.

Nothing here is authored

There is no question bank to memorise. Each item is generated from a seeded model at the moment you load it, so on Premium the same test gives you fresh questions every run. The free version draws from a small fixed pool of the same generated questions. That is deliberate: a fixed bank teaches you the answers, and the real test will not have them.

Every generator is checked automatically, confirming there is exactly one defensible answer, that the arithmetic divides exactly, that no two answer options render alike, and that the difficulty curve actually separates effort from idleness. Hundreds of items per test, every build.

What this is not

It is not official, and it is not connected to the Royal Air Force or the Ministry of Defence in any way. The real test content is restricted, and none of it appears here. Every exercise is original material written to resemble the published format. The scores are our own training benchmarks; the real selection cut scores are not published, and anyone telling you otherwise is guessing.

Built by one person

This is an independent project, and it is still being improved. If you find a test that behaves oddly or a question that looks wrong, that is worth telling me about, because it usually means a generator needs fixing.

Who runs it

CBATONE is owned and operated by Quantum Thread Australia, an Australian software business (ABN 54 499 540 660) building web applications and training tools. CBATONE is its aptitude-practice product.
