What this test involves
- Answer as many as you can.
- Press 1–4 to choose an answer, or click it.
- Most questions plot several labelled points inside the rose and ask for the bearing of one of them, measured from the crosshair at the centre.
- Others draw the line for you, or ask for the angle between two lines.
- The options crowd together and the compass rotates as you progress.
How to prepare for Angles, Bearings & Degrees
- Anchor on the quadrant first. Decide it is between 090 and 180 before you try to pin the number.
- Halve and halve again: 090 is easy, 045 is easy, and most bearings are a short step from one of those.
- When the rose is rotated, find north first and count from there. Reading off the top of the screen is the trap.
- How far a point sits from the centre means nothing. A bearing is a direction, so the near point and the far point can share one.
